what's new?

We've been super busy, even more that usual (that explains the very few blogs lately). Val's parents were here the weekend before last for a good visit. Grandpa Fred and Grandma Marie are back in Florence for the winter. Thanksgiving was at my house this year, and the turkey turned out great! Grandma Patti and Grandpa Bill joined us for dinner out on our patio. We headed out to California this past weekend to visit Grandma Alexandra, Aunt Cee, and Lorraine. We returned home just today, to a homemade pie from Karen! Yum!

Henry turned six months on Friday, and he's up to all kinds of new things. He's on the verge of both sitting up and crawling. He is loving his oatmeal and peas, carrots, and green beans. He is still coughing quite a bit and I am wondering if it will ever go away. We are dying to know how much he weighs, because it feels like a ton. He has his next appointment next week, along with the vaccinations. You can check back for height and weight percentile info and some more pictures soon. Must go get ready for bed now . . . and (sob, sob) work tomorrow. night night.

grandparents here . . .

Grandpa Fred is back in Arizona!

. . . there . . .

Grandma Linda is good at entertaining Henry in the back seat.

. . . everywhere

Papa Val shows Henry the cars on the Pacific Coast Highway.

four generations all in one cute, compact photo

We have just arrived back from California. We headed out on Friday morning so Henry could meet his Great Grandma Alexandra. It was lots of driving, but well worth it. We got to see the gang in California, and hang out with the Big Hammers some more.

yippeeeeee!

Henry has slept through the night for the last two nights in a row! Life is good again. I will get some new pictures soon to post. Grandpa Fred has made it back to Arizona, and Grandma and Papa Hammer will be heading into town on Friday to visit, and I am so excited for them to see Henry, he is so different from the last time they saw him.

you've got to be kidding!

The cough and runny nose is back! Ughhhhh! Just when we thought we were in the clear, Henry's cough and stuffed up nose is back with a vengence. We are not religious people, but please pray for us. We do not know when we will ever get any sleep again. So, if I haven't replied to your emails recently, or I owe you a phone call, that is my excuse - I'm ... so . . . stinking . . . . tired . . . . . must go to bed now, so I can get up and make the doughnuts in the morning. good night.

pj's from aunt and uncle

Here are my pj's I got from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kristin and my ugly doll from Tanya in Seattle. His name is Ox. I wore this outfit to daycare on Halloween day. They said I looked like a jailbird.

halloween 2006

We had a great time with our neighbor, Karen, hoofing it around the neighborhood. Some people here in Gilbert decorate their homes for Halloween and not for Christmas. We saw all kinds of crazy things: A skeleton hanging from a rooftop, big eyeballs (attached to glasses) hanging from trees, skeletons playing cards, Halloween luminaria, and a funny old lady that kept calling Henry a bumble bee. (?) He was an octopus, by the way. Olive and Janie even came along with us.
